Statewide Policy Summit
On Sunday, we hosted a Policy Summit in Jefferson City, inviting attendees from across the state to define and finalize the policy language that will be used on the November 2026 ballot. We used feedback from over 25 Town Halls to inform the proposed language.
Featured guest speakers joined us, including Freddie Steinbach, former Finance Director for Gov. John Ashcroft, Nimrod Chapel, President of the Missouri NAACP and Yvonne Reeves Chong, Vice Chair of the Missouri Democratic Party.
Discussed language centered around the following concerns: (1) banning the legislature from changing past initiatives, (2) banning the legislature from trying to again pass laws rejected by citizens, (3) prohibiting politicians from attacking citizens’ ability to use the initiative process and (4) banning the use of manipulating language on ballots to mislead voters.
Once the ballot language is finalized this summer, the next steps include gathering 300,000 signatures from Missourians. If you are interested in helping with that process, check out the Take Action page for ways to get involved. There’s plenty to do right now!
Thank you to everyone who helped us make this event successful!
